The “Mercado” de San Antón, a unique food market in Chueca neighbourhood, just around the corner from Gran Vía, has completely renewed its image. In recent years, the market management decided to combine traditional food stalls with gourmet gastronomic offers, but the group apart from the concept, visioned a complete re-style, giving to the market a new and avant-garde image. The new and refreshed image of the space seeks to reconcile the classic and modern, mixing more traditional materials such as steel and granite, blending it with neon signs or 3D techniques.
Moreover, it has incorporated 16 new merchants, some are well known as Hevia, La Ancha or Café Comercial, thus expanding the gourmet offers, it maintains the iconic traditional greengrocers, fishmongers, and butchers. Creating the perfect mingle environment between the locals looking to purchase their day-to-day products and the curious visitors, who come to discover all the gastronomy that the capital has to offers.
Without a doubt, the jewel of the crown is the space located on the rooftop of the building. The old San Antón Kitchen has been totally renovated and transformed, into a complete new space., the Restaurante 11 Nudos Terraza Nordés, seating up to 120 people in their indoor lounge, now with a predominance of blues and whites and a greater presence of vegetation, and 80 people at the heated and iconic covered terrace, still considered as the perfect spot for having a drink, while enjoying the views over the rooftops of the traditional neighbourhood of Chueca. In terms of cuisine concept, 11 Nudos Terraza Nordés continues offering the best quality of national Iberian products, however, incorporating some touches and influences from the most important international cuisines.
