About an hour from Barcelona, you’ll encounter the charming region of Maresme, which stretches along the coast with endless sandy beaches, pine woods, villages on the coast or nestling the hillside of the mountains, and incredible modernista mansions.
 
The hidden secret of Maresme is safeguarding distinct venues, North of the county you’ll be studded by two peculiar castles. Starting with Castell de Santa Florentina, built during the Roman Times – Domus, which was an urban nucleus and a wine-producing region. It was renovated in XIX century by the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner and today is a beautiful venue with noble rooms full of marble, wood ceilings, ceramic pieces and amazing stained glasses and sculptures. It also has a wonderful outdoor porch and inner courtyard of the castle, perfect for “al fresco” evenings. The castle can host private event up to 180 people in banquet and 300 people in cocktail. The other castle is Castell Jalpí, a former stately home that was converted into a castle in 1895, when it became the main residence of the newly wedded Lord August Borràs i Jalpí and Lady Sofía de Algorta y Albarao. The last heirs of the Jalpí family made extravagance a reality, through the construction of the majestic quarters which reminisce past times - the castle was restored in 2004 without losing its glamour. This venue offers unique spaces for a gala evening, as it counts with 4 interior and versatile rooms, ranging from 50 people seated in an intimate room to 320 people seated in luminous facing a garden. The exterior has an incredible patio overlooking the stars and lake. 

South of Maresme, you’ll find two other notorious venues with fascinating natural settings as a backdrop. Ca l’iborra is set in the hills of Mataró, a country house from the early 20th century, featuring three levels with a number of lounges and dining rooms that can host private dining for 100 people and a breathtaking terrace ideal for cocktail for 200 people. Regardless of the chosen location for your event, you’ll be surrounded by nature and spectacular sea views. Another luxurious venue is Bell Recó, inaugurated in 1952, it took about 12 years to be built. It is a summer estate owned by the Catalan bourgeoisie, settle in a garden of three level, the house is located on the upper level. There are numerous interior rooms with classical and extravagant ambiences, but the stunning outdoor patio surrounded by its lush garden are the meeting planners white canvas dream to design the perfect evening for 350 people.
