How are you adjusting to current home base reality?
First of all, what I had to do first was to create my own little business at home since it was the first time ever to work home-office. Considering that I would have to stay home for more than a month, I decided to place my desk close to a huge window, so I can see the sun and the wonderful Madrid’s sky at any time. Thus, I also managed to be isolated from my family’s noises and achieve the needed concentration to work; for instance, I listen to relaxing music on Spotify with my headset (I totally recommend “Chill Hits” or “Soft Pop Hits” playlists).

Additionally, I find it essential to follow pre-established schedules for the work routine. In fact, I continue with some habits as if I were in the office: every day the first thing I do is review the notes on my agenda; e-talk to colleagues in the department and take the recommended breaks for rest of sight and body. Still, sometimes I miss the bustle of the office!

Developing or perfecting hobbies?
Actually, both of them! Sports have never been my cup of tea. I only fancy doing long walks in my city, but I found some interesting and funny exercises on YouTube to keep my body active and healthy. I’m fond of watching this kind of videos where the teacher is very encouraging and the students are normal people like you and me; take a look https://youtu.be/gC_L9qAHVJ8. Also, I’ve just started to paint again! I did it when I was in school and during my university years, but I had to quit it when I started to work due to the lack of time. Now, I can spend almost two hours a day painting landscapes, which is a special way to rest my mind to.

Moreover, I keep learning languages: I love reading books in their original language! I read Paul Auster to perfect my English, as well as Giordano to continue learning a little Italian. Without a doubt, my favorite books in Portuguese are those of Jose Saramago, because I think the stories he tells are absolutely wonderful. Of course, his original style of writing is difficult to understand at times.

What are you truly missing from Madrid?
As I have already commented before, I am a true lover of long walks through the historic center of Madrid, because in each of them I can appreciate the different styles of the city. I also miss going out for tapas with my friends, as well as, doing a day trip with them to some of the outstanding cities that are close to Madrid: Toledo, Ávila, Segovia ...

Furthermore, I used to spend some of the weekends with my family, just wander around the green areas of our city or even travel to other places. We are in love with the Andalusian cities and towns, such as Sevilla or the white villages. We know that spring is the best season to visit them and we are terribly sorry that we cannot take advantage of a trip during this time.

A little something to keep dreaming...
From my view the last video made by Madrid’s tourism bureau is simply perfect since it reflects in an extraordinary way the character of Madrid and its inhabitants: strong, hopeful and eager to live… https://youtu.be/jBLyvlza2c0
I’m always keen on tasting Andalusian food and drink!... https://youtu.be/CGs_QM1MCAc
Part of my family is from Alicante, a big city close to Valencia, and I’m really looking into sunbathing on its beaches again! https://youtu.be/lllxeUdtyZQ
