In mid-September, we greeted 44 Argentine automotive leaders in Lisbon, Portugal revealed itself as a country of contrasts and charm. In the evening, a reception dinner took place at Praia no Parque, a trendy restaurant on top of Eduardo VII Park, setting the tone for a journey that would be unforgettable.
Lisbon’s streets came alive as the group explored historic corners by Tuk-Tuk, weaving through colorful neighborhoods before pausing for lunch at Restaurante Via Graça, where sweeping city views met exquisite flavors. The evening transformed into an intimate experience at Palácio Conde d’Óbidos, where live Fado added soul to a beautifully elegant dinner.
The magic continued in Sintra, where the fairytale towers and gardens of Pena Palace captivated participants. Along the coastal road back to Lisbon, through Cascais and Estoril with the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop framed the group’s journey, blending history, nature, and awe moment.
Travelling to Porto, the group discovered Portugal’s with scenic stops in Óbidos, a rampart town known for a cherry liquor called Ginjinha, the serenity of the Sanctuary of Fátima. Then, up North the romance of the Douro Valley began, with a private Rabelo boat took them along the river, vineyards stretching as far as the eye could see, followed by a curated wine tasting and lunch at Quinta da Pacheca.
The following day in Porto offered literary and culinary charm, from the iconic Livraria Lello to the city’s finest flavors. The week reached its peak at the Palácio da Bolsa, a Stock Exchange Palace, built in the second half of the 19th century, was the chosen location for a gala dinner with live music, finishing the trip on a high note.
Next day was time to depart, the group went home with memories, stories of Portugal’s culture and flavors. Surely, a trip that will linger on their minds for the months to come.
