Some outrageous but definitely new restaurants

Portugal is the location to come if you’re a foodie, from North to South you’ll surprised with hidden culinary gems. Thus, the Portuguese capital couldn’t be any different, the pandemic didn’t stop us from opening new restaurants…. A few with different concept others just delicious menu.
- Loco: owed by Portuguese chef Alexandre Silva that has made a brilliant history in Lisbon and has shown that irreverence and risk are two important factors in the life of a chef. Loco you’ll find a suspended olive tree attached to the ceiling, open concept kitchen and homemade fermented liquors among others. Apart from unique set up, the chef’s fine dining menu, got him a Michelin Star in 2017… kept the quality since then!
- Marlene,: Less than two years later from opening Zunzum Gastrobar, Marlene presents a new project to the city, to which she lent her name after adding a comma, the concept is a modern Portuguese cuisine, where sustainability and seasonality products walk together. In the same space as Zunzum, only a wall separates them, Marlene, has a minimalist and elegant décor that’s dominated by open kitchen located in the center of the restaurant. They only serve dinner from Wednesday to Saturday with divine tasting menu with 7 or 12 moments.
- Libertà: Adjacent to Avenida da Liberdade, a new Italian restaurant blossomed, at Libertà you won't find pizza or carbonara. Here, the idea is to work with authentic Italian food, without flourishes, but in an unconventional way. The Italian Silvio Armanni, former executive chef of Octavium, in Hong Kong with a Michelin star, is the one who takes the reins in the kitchen. The menu emphasizes the pasta that’s freshly made, but meat dishes and focaccias also shine….
- Encanto: Encanto, the latest project by chef José Avillez, dedicated to vegetarian cuisine opened in March 2022. Encanto is 100% vegetarian and fine dining restaurant, their tasting menu is accompanied by organic wines, infusions, natural juices, craft beers and varieties of Kombucha (fermented tea-based drink). The restaurant has capacity for 50 people and its in the heart of Lisbon at Largo de São Carlos.
