A Spain with more quality and sustainability

Spain is committed to developing and exporting quality and sustainable tourism. Recently, the Spanish Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Reyes Maroto, assured that they’re investing in "a model that improves the quality of the tourist offer" and sustainability of the sector, along with "good practices" that will be replicated in countries with a presence of Spanish companies. The minister pointed out that important hotel chains "are very clear about respecting the environment, they are reducing plastics in many hotels around the world."
 
"We value 2022 positively, the reactivation of tourism will be consolidated, but we want to effectively base it on quality, on increasing the profitability of the sector, on greater tourist spending, an increase in the average stay, data that we have already had in the year 2021 and that we want to consolidate," he explained.

In order to achieve this goal, the department's strategy is based on three levers: investing in the destination, both sun and beach, urban and rural, in the digitization of the sector and in sustainability.
