There are 3 unique wine estates located in 3 different wine regions, that are about 1 hour from Lisbon or Porto. It’s possible to have an incredible day in a vineyard with private tastings, followed by lunch or dinner, as well as, exciting teambuilding activities.
Lisbon region has a long history in the Portuguese viticulture that’s unknown to many. The region’s main characteristic is a variety of microclimates gathered in small areas, producing a wide variety of wines. About an hour from Lisbon, you’ll find Quinta de Chocapalha, a family owned estate founded in 1987. Regardless of the time of year, visits are always conducted by a member of the family. Its possible to visit the vineyards, wine cellar and have an intimate lunch up to 50 people.
Bairrada region has a mild climate due to its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, wine production existed since the X century, but it wasn’t until XIX century that it become a notorious producer of white, red and sparkling wines. About 1 hour from Porto, you’ll encounter one of the most innovative estate, as the main building, has structural design of a barrel. Quinta do Encontro eccentricity and innovation continues in the cellar, with a state-of-the-art equipment to produce excellent wines. After the visit, it’s possible to host a private event on the second level with a terrace overlooking vineyards with capacity up to 200 people.
Dão Region was created in 1908, due to its highland location, the vineyards are within 400-700m high, creating unique characteristics for the production of wine. About 1 hour from Porto, you’ll enter the quaint village of Santar and visit Paços dos Cunhas de Santar. An incredible estate built in 1609 and renewed in 2008, without losing its history and classical features that are now combined with trendy and modern elements. Get ready to embark in a world of wine and history, starting by tasting some of the estate most incredible wines at one of their outdoor terraces, finishing with a delicious earthy meal in their beautiful banqueting room, with capacity up to 100 people.
