Alicante and the Costa Blanca

Alicante and the Costa Blanca is a destination that’s growing and strengthening, expecting to open up to five new hotels in the city soon.

This region has always been in the shadow of its neighbour Valencia, but the noteworthy  development in recent years, ranked its airport among the top 5 international  Spanish airports with flights to and from most European Cities (ahead of Valencia’s airport, ranked 8th in 2019).

The city of Alicante is in our days an awesome destination to host not only leisure, but also incredible MICE events. Alicante has capacity to host big events with the presence of large hotel chains such as Melia, NH or Eurostars. A fine example is the Melia Alicante, a staggering four stars property with 545 rooms near the old town, it features 13 multifunctional meeting rooms  and banqueting space for 586 people or 1200 people for a cocktail reception. Contrasting for its exclusivity is the boutique Hospes Amerigo hotel, with only 81 rooms, awarded for its design by the Condé Nast Johansens in 2006. All these hotels have excellent COVID-19 risk management protocol in place to preserve the comfort and safety of all guests.

Regarding the organization of congresses and meetings, Alicante has two Conference Centers, Palácio de Congresos Alicante with more than 4,000m2 of conference space and the main auditorium catering up to 602 people. An about 10 minutes across town is Auditorio de la Diputación de Alicante (ADDA) with 25.580 square metres, which became the main cultural centre of the city with an auditorium with capacity to  host up to 1225 people.

There are other nearby towns in Costa Blanca, where MICE Events are also welcomed, such as the city of Elche, which offers a congress center for 428 people, or the well-known Benidorm where, in addition to having one of the most representative skylines in the Mediterranean, it offers hotels with capacity to host events for more than 1,000 people in the same room.

The gastronomic offer in Alicante is mainly concentrated in the port area and in its impressive historic center. with picturesque places such as Calle San Francisco or the Santa Cruz neighbourhood. In addition, there are internationally recognized restaurants such as Monastrell for the renowned Spanish Chef Maria San Romá or La Ereta, situated atop of hill, featuring phenomenal views of Alicante. The local traditional gastronomy is based on the best local and fresh products, such as seafood and paella from Alicante. It is possible to organize a traditional “paella” workshop and learn more about this tasty rice dish delicacy.

In addition to its mild climate, Allicante has unique enclaves, such as La Explanada de España and the Castillo de Santa Bárbara, which proximity to the sea allows the organization of water sports event; its extensive beaches are also ideal for teambuilding events and its nearby mountain ranges for more radical sports activities such as canyoning or mountain biking.

Alicante and Costa Blanca is an emerging region for MICE segment and an alternative to its neighbouring cities of Barcelona and Valencia. The region has incredible infrastructures that make it a perfect place for any group or event you want to organize with us.
