Valencia offers an ancient lifetime experience in the traditional art of fishing. With Abreu Events, your guests have now the opportunity to embark on a full-day adventure, including a morning at sea, learning from the local fishermen the ancient art of fishing techniques, participate in a fish market auction and last but not least, a cooking class where they will learn a traditional recipe secrets from a local Chef. 

With an early morning departure from the Marina, guests will be heading out to open sea, to meet the main fishing vessel, that’s been out fishing since dawn. Once on board guests will be greeted by the Captain, who will be also explaining the onboard safety procedures. The main purpose of this morning activity is to learn with the fishing crew the ancient techniques and baits used for the catch of the different species found and caught along the Spanish coast. During the ride back to the fishing dock, local tapas will be served on board to recharge our batteries. With the fishing boat already at the fishing dock, all catches have to be screened and classified before auctioning the fish, then  we’ll participate in auctioning itself at Lonja (Fish Exchange Market).

Using the acquired fishing knowledge, guests will be challenged to buy the freshest fish, at the local market, for lunch. The cooking class will then take place in an iconic location in town, the renowned L’Albufera region, where the notorious paella was created.

Depending on the group size, the activity may take place in Nou Racó or La Barraca, two unique restaurants inside the park. The guests will be divided into smaller groups with the objective to create their own original fish recipe, while using a traditional and inspiring "toque blanche" of the Chef.  Once all groups finished cooking,  guests will then seat down, all together, to taste the different recipes and find the best dish worth of being distinguished with a “Michelin Star”.
