How are you adjusting to current home base reality?
Not as bad as previously thought. Despite it hasn’t been easy, I honestly thought it was going to me more difficult but I like to think, I am coping quite well with it. Surely, the most difficult part has been the impossibility to meet, talk and even share jokes with my colleagues at the offices. Besides, most of my job tasks imply travelling in order to visit and meet clients personally, but due to the current situation I am unable to do so. Therefore, I have been somehow forced to reinvent my way of communicating with clients becoming more active on a virtual level, in a closer and more informal approach, sharing a “virtual coffee” and a nice chat at the same time.

Developing or perfecting hobbies?
Both, this situation has allowed me to have more time to do things I wouldn’t have done otherwise or wouldn’t surely have time to do them. Focusing on duties, I have started taking lessons of Digital Marketing, a business subject I have always been attracted to and that it is becoming more and more important for the coming future.

I studied several languages both at High School and University, namely English, French and German. Yet, the lack of use of the last two, resulted in my loss of vocabulary and common expressions, therefore it’s becoming quite rusty. Thus, considering myself a language lover, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to take up again and improve my knowledge and that’s why I am currently having virtual talks with native people. It’s an interesting experience, since you learn while meeting new and nice people.

Finally, but not least important, as a foodie, I have always had curiosity about cooking so it’s the right time to improve my cooking skills, well, if I have to be honest, I am learning to cook!

What are you truly missing from Seville?
I currently live in Madrid, the city where I have grown up and love, but whenever possible I love escaping to Seville, no doubt it’s one of the most amazing cities in Spain. As it is located just 2 hours and a half distance by train from Madrid, making it easy to spend a weekend or bank holiday in the city. The city has endless and magnificent monuments such as its Cathedral, La Giralda, Real Alcazar, Torre del Oro, Plaza de España and many, many more. It’s amazing getting lost in the old part of the city, finding different and beautiful buildings behind its narrow streets. But there’s more to the city besides art, history and culture. It’s gastronomy…. I love relaxing al fresco at night at one of their bars eating “pescaito frito” (fried fish) with my family or even having dinner in a restaurant overlooking Guadalquivir river. Its people are another of the most important assets of the city, always friendly, in good mood, pleasant and willing to help. As the song says “Sevilla tiene un color especial”, translate as Seville has a special colour, meaning magic, and that’s mostly due to its people and the way they live.
