Not to mention, Barcelona’s cultural heritage that’s an eye candy to the eyes with its architecture and history, that’s carefully blended with Mediterranean character is mixed with cosmopolitan spirit. Explore the surroundings and open-air sites of Barcelona; about an hour from city is the magical mountains of Montserrat, the Monastery of Santa Maria de Montserrat, a culture and religious locations that reveals the history of Catalonia. The Monastery is located at the top of the mountain at an altitude of 720m above sea level, offering mesmerizing views of the natural sceneries. Admire the Abbey of Montserrat and interior has Romanesque work of carved wood and the figure of the Virgin of Montserrat - known as Moreneta (Dark Virgin) because of the color of her face and hands, and of the infant Jesus she holds in her lap. Throughout the visit, an official guide will be present to reveal peculiarities about its history.
Another cultural but bubbly option, is unveiling the Penedés, about 30 minutes from Barcelona you can immerse in the Catalan wine region, to taste the famous Cava (Spanish sparkling wine) as well as, their exceptional red and white wine. Apart from its large wine production, it’s also one of the oldest wine-producing regions in Europe with viniculture dating back to the 6th century. Needless to say, these wineries are bursting with history such as Familia Torres, Cordiu Winery, Cavas Freixenet are just to name a few. Each one of them is currently providing a unique experience, taking into account the safety regulations.
On the other side of the spectrum, Abreu Events has jumped into the virtual world being able to provide you with online teambuilding to motivate and promote communication with your teams. A fun icebreaker activity is online Haka, the New Zealand’s Ceremonial Dance commonly seen in Rugby games. It’s perfect to surprise participants before their meeting, creating a fun and intimate environment among participants. The activity is carried out with our official trainer, a native Maori from New Zealand.
Finally, the vast majority of hotels and venues that have opened in Barcelona are already prepared to organize hybrid meetings and have reduced the capacities of their rooms obeying the distancing regulations.
Barceló Sants, is one of the exemplary hotels in the city, meticulously follows the WHO protocols, yet the hotel went even further creating their own protocol called “we care about you”. It includes technological solutions instead of paper, specific F&B protocols (all plates protected including in coffee breaks and participants can only eat seating down), management and continuous disinfection of common areas among others. Recently, Barceló Sants had a medical event with 220 people, throughout its 3.000m2 of meeting rooms and 1.000m2 plenary, thus ensuring 1.5m distance between participants at all times, apart from the protocols above.
