New direct flights to the Azores

Four airlines from two continents increased their routes

The Azores is an incredible archipelago that simply abounds with adventures, it is, in fact, the Hawaii of the mid-Atlantic. It has world-class whale watching, sailing, diving, hiking and canyoning; excellent surfing and other watersports; rich opportunities for bikes or, for the daredevils, by paraglider. Then there is the landscape itself: a wonderland of seething mud pots, fantastical caverns, and vivid crater lakes that speak of a volcanic origin.
 
You can visit this incredible gem with direct flight from two continents, North America, and Europe, for the European summer season. These are:

- United Airlines: from May 14th until June 3rd United Airlines will have 3 direct flights a week from New York (EWK) to Ponta Delgada. From June 4th until September 28th, United Airlines will increase their flights to 4 direct flights a week.
- Transavia: increased their flight operations to Portugal, specially to the Azores with direct flights to Ponta Delgada from Amsterdam and Porto. These started in end of March 2022, with one weekly flight from Amsterdam and two weekly flights from Porto.
- Swiss Air: on the airline 20th anniversary in end of March, announced they will be reinforcing their summer operation to Portugal with a new route to Ponta Delgada from Zurich on a weekly basis.
- EasyJet: the British low-cost will have 5 new routes to the Azores, Easyjet partnered with Azores Airline, thus providing to their client’s routes from Lisbon to São Miguel, Terceira, Horta, Pico and Santa Maria, from Porto do São Miguel and Terceira and from Paris and Barcelona to São Miguel.
