Huelva is a unique location on the Costa de la Luz between the rivers of Guadiana and Guadalquivir. It’s fulfilled with history, pristine and long beaches, freshest seafood and home to awe-inspiring Natural Parks. One can say its Spain Southern pearl with peculiar gems that only locals know, like Port of Palos de la Frontera witnessed Christopher Columbus’s depart towards the New World…
The region has more than 100 kilometres of coastline with places as incredible as Punta Umbría or El Rompido. Yet, the most impressive natural location is the Doñana National Park, one of the most important and beautiful wetlands in Europe. During a day trip, you can see ecosystems as different as marshes, lagoons, pine forests, mobile dunes, cliffs, 30 KMs of virgin beaches, it’s truly unique tricks from Mother Nature. These tricks continues to the Rio Tinto Mining Park, considered to be the most acidic river in the world and it’s sulphur content gives it a unique reddish colour. Even NASA has been experimenting here for several years due to its resemblance to Mars. The visit to the river is complemented with surreal and almost lunar landscapes of the old British mining operations on board of a 19th century wooden train.
Strategically located less than an hour from Faro and Seville international Airports, the picturesque town of Huelva is carefully complemented with mind-blowing hotels structures, as is the case of Barceló Punta Umbría, a four stars property close by Umbria Beach with 1.200 rooms and a convention center with a capacity of catering 3.500 people.
