The 25th edition of the Grand Final Gala Ceremony 2018 of World Travel Awards took place in Lisbon, Portugal on the 1st of December. The selection of the nominees is done on a global scale by the public and more than 200 thousand professionals from the tourism sector in 163 countries.
Portugal has proven that is booming tourism is paying-off, after sweeping an array of awards at this year’s awards ceremony. In a statement from Portugal’s Secretary of State for Tourism, Ana Mendes Godinho, said she was “extremely proud to receive this distinction again”.

The city of Valencia hosted the Gala of the Michelin Guide Spain & Portugal 2022. This event happened on December 14th of 2021, at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía presenting the new selection of restaurants distinguished with a star.
The Michelin Guide Spain and Portugal 2023 was announced on November 22, the ceremony took place at Palacio de Congresos El Greco in Toledo, Spain. This edition was fulfilled with surprises, which includes two restaurants that received the highest qualification of three Michelin Stars distinction, three restaurants raised to two stars category and 34 restaurants earned their first Michelin star.
