Porto wins “City of the Year” award
At 2022 Food and Travel Reader Awards
The Food and Travel Reader Awards has been a highlight of the hospitality and travel calendars since its inception in 2012. This year’s edition took place at the prestigious Royal Automobile Club London on January 16th, 2023. Celebrating the best segments in the world in terms of food, drink, and travel, across 23 categories, restaurants, chefs, hotels, destinations, tour operators, cruise companies and airlines were among those honored.
The city of Porto shined as it won the award of “City of the Year”, Porto was nominated alongside cities such as Barcelona, Edinburgh, London, Melbourne, New York, Paris, Vancouver and Vienna.
For Luís Pedro Martins, president of Turismo do Porto e Norte de Portugal, “the city of Porto is once again to be congratulated”. And continued to say “This is another award that recognizes the value of the Porto brand in the international context and reinforces the path of growth in value considering the demand segment that has an impact on. We started 2023 with renewed impetus and it is yet another honor that makes us proud and strengthens our positioning in the world."
