Corvo is the smallest island of the Azores, home to one of Europe’s smallest communities, whose traditions have been carefully preserved over the years. Folks here speak with a medieval Portuguese dialect; however the community counts with only 400 very friendly inhabitants, who leave their door unlocked, in case you need to borrow their car keys, to go for a ride.

This paradisiac droplet of an island is internationally known as a birdwatching location, as it’s the habitat of many bird species, such as terns, shearwaters and Azores wood pigeons. The migratory birds of North American also come to Corvo around October and November.
There are prime diving sites around the island that have been preserved by the locals resulting in an abundant diversity of the marine life. You’ll be surprised that Corvo has two beautiful beaches that can be easily reached by walking or riding a bike.
