Algarve wins Best Gastronomic Destination in Europe 2018
Unveil the flavors of the region
The award for the “Best European Region in Tourism and Gastronomy 2018” was given by the European council of Food and Wine Confraternities (CEUCO) in the 13th edition of Aurum Awards held in Athens.
This a great honor to announce that the Algarve (South of Portugal) has won a European Prize for its gastronomy. The award recognizes that the Algarve’s gastronomic flavors and know-how have conquered millions of people all over the world and are one of the main tourist attractions of the Algarve, as well as, an important feature of the region.
The Algarve has been consolidating its culinary and oenological offer throughout the years, and as the president of the Algarve Tourism Region said about the prize “brings us recognition and perseverance to continue to preserve and enhance our gastronomic and enological patrimony, making the region known through its dishes and dining experience”.
